Who can become a member?
Membership is open to anyone paying into, receiving, or who will receive a pension from Canada’s Public Service, the RCMP or the Canadian Armed Forces, federally appointed judges and to honourably discharged non-pensioned veterans. Their spouses and survivors are also eligible to join Federal Retirees
How you can pay
You can choose the payment option that works best for you.
Choose to pay annually by credit card or monthly through pension deduction (DDS), a convenient option that renews automatically. Membership fees are deducted directly from your pension at a rate of $4.90 per month for a single membership or $6.20 per month for a double membership.
If you prefer to pay by cheque, download the membership application form and mail it to us with your payment. Instructions are included on the form.

Yes. If you’re eligible for membership, your partner or spouse is eligible too. Partners and spouses can join whether they are retired or still working, and they do not need to be eligible to receive their own federal pension.
Yes. If you’re joining for the first time, you can select a double membership during online checkout.
If you’re an existing member and would like to upgrade from a single to a double membership, please contact our member services team by phone at 1-855-304-4700 or by email at service@federalretirees.ca. At this time, membership upgrades are processed directly by our team, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
Yes, if you are eligible for Dues Deduction at Source (DDS). You can select the DDS option when renewing online or contact us at 1-855-304-4700 for assistance.
Please note: DDS is not available to current employees, non-pensioned veterans, or individuals receiving judges’ pensions or judges’ survivor allowances.
